One of our most prominent projects was outfitting the outer walls of the auditorium at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in Doha with 7,500 custom leather panels. This massive installation complemented the center’s architectural theme, inspired by the “tree of knowledge” as a symbol of learning and refuge in the desert. As one of the largest convention centers in the Middle East, QNCC merges innovative design with sustainable practices, creating a venue that honors both functionality and environmental responsibility.
ALMA contributed to this vision by using sustainable leather for the panels, aligning our craftsmanship with the QNCC’s eco-friendly principles. Each leather panel was crafted and installed to bring warmth and elegance to the auditorium’s exterior walls. Our choice of sustainable leather was essential to the project, allowing us to meet the architectural vision while supporting the center’s dedication to reducing its environmental footprint.
This project required immense human effort, with every panel carefully crafted, transported, and installed to meet QNCC’s high standards. Our team’s attention to detail and commitment to sustainability ensured that the panels integrated seamlessly with the center’s unique design, emphasizing the organic flow and monumental scale of the space.
Completing this large-scale installation at QNCC was a significant achievement for ALMA, showcasing our expertise in creating high-quality, environmentally responsible leather solutions for one of the region’s most iconic venues.
