IL-SOLE Yacht

Candy & Candy commissioned Alma to undertake a comprehensive interior leather fit-out for IL Sole, a 44.76-metre luxury motor yacht built by Benetti with exterior design by Stefano Natucci and interiors curated by Zuretti in collaboration with Candy & Candy. The project was carried out while the yacht was dry-docked in Monaco, which brought its own technical challenges and required a highly considered approach from the outset. Working closely with the design team, the scope gradually developed into something far more ambitious than a conventional fit-out, evolving into a fully immersive leather application across almost every surface on board. Walls, columns, staircases, handrails and flooring were all treated as part of a unified design language, resulting in an interior that feels both cohesive and distinctive.

To deliver this level of detail within a limited timeframe, Alma set up a temporary workshop directly on the yacht, transporting all necessary machinery tools and materials to Monaco. Over the course of four intensive weeks, the team worked in close coordination with the designers to execute each element with precision. A wide range of exceptional leathers was used throughout the project, including stingray skins premium European calf hides and custom laser-etched finishes with intricate translucent patterns. Special care was taken to account for the yacht’s return to water, with allowances built in to handle structural movement and prevent any stress on the leather finishes over time. All materials were also specially treated to ensure they could withstand marine conditions while maintaining their appearance and performance.

Designed to accommodate up to 12 guests across six cabins, IL Sole reflects a balance of timeless design and modern comfort. Within this refined setting, Alma’s work enhances both the visual and tactile experience, adding depth character and a sense of craftsmanship to the interiors without overpowering the overall design. Every detail was carefully integrated to sit naturally within the space, contributing to an environment that feels considered and complete. The project stands as a strong example of Alma’s ability to handle complex installations and deliver high quality bespoke solutions tailored to the unique demands of luxury yacht interiors.
